All documents should be validated first by the relevant agencies in the state where they were issued. The designated authorities in the event of personal documents are the Home Department/General Administration Department.

In the case of educational documents, state governments have now established Regional Authentication Centers (RACs) around the country, where the document must be attested first. Documents that have been attested by these authorities must next be delivered to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), after which we can submit them to the concerned embassies.
